The Lung Center of the Philippines announced this Monday that none of the hospital’s personnel have tested positive for COVID-19, nearly a month after it became a referral center for the disease.
Dr. Antonio Ramos, head of the Lung Center’s administrative services, explained that they were able to achieve this through private donations of safety gear for the hospital’s workers as well as stringent health protocols.
The hospital will also be putting up an airconditioned facility to house personnel who are reluctant to go home amid the pandemic.
“Dahil sa mga donations, dahil sa mga PPEs, dahil sa mga infrastructure na minodify at dahil sa procedures, for the past 29 days, walang Lung Center personnel na nag-positive,” Ramos told DZMM.
[Because of donations, personal protective equipment, modified infrastructure, and procedures, for the past 29 days, no Lung Center personnel has tested positive.]
“Iyong aming tao kahit na papaano nakakadagdag ng confidence… [This adds to the confidence of our people…] We should be afraid enough to be careful, but not too afraid to lose hope,” he added.
The Lung Center of the Philippines currently has over 50 COVID-19 patients admitted, “below 10” of whom are exhibiting severe symptoms.
