Fans of early 2000s rom-coms may soon see a familiar story return to the screen, this time with a new cast. A reboot of 13 Going on 30 is officially in development, with Logan Lerman and Emily Bader set to take on the lead roles. It was announced by Netflix on March 25, 2026, via its social media platforms.

The reboot will be directed by Brett Haley, known for People We Meet on Vacation. Jennifer Garner, who originally played Jenna Rink in the 2004 film, is also attached to the reboot as an executive producer.
As of writing, details about the plot remain under wraps, and no additional cast members or release date have been announced. The screenplay will be written by Hannah Marks, with revisions by Flora Greeson. Producers include Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Garner.
Logan Lerman is known for his roles in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, while Emily Bader gained wider attention through My Lady Jane and her role in People We Meet on Vacation, where she previously worked with Haley.
Originally released in 2004, 13 Going on 30 followed 13-year-old Jenna Rink, who made a wish to become “thirty, flirty, and thriving” after a difficult birthday. She wakes up as her 30-year-old self and navigates adulthood, relationships, and the reality of how her life turned out.
The film, which also starred Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer, went on to become a box-office success and is often remembered as one of the defining romantic comedies of its time.
