If you’ve ever posted a carousel on Instagram only to realize the photos or videos weren’t in the order you wanted, there’s some good news. The platform is rolling out a feature that lets users reorder content in carousel posts even after they’ve gone live.

To adjust your post, just tap the three-dot menu on the top right of your carousel, select “Edit,” then long-press and drag the photos or videos to the order you prefer. Keep in mind, though, you can’t add new media—just shuffle what’s already there. Instagram says this gives users more flexibility to organize content without losing engagement on existing posts.
Another small but handy update involves Instagram Reels. Previously, you had to tap and hold to pause a video, but now a simple tap freezes the clip, making it easier to catch details or read captions without juggling your fingers.
Instagram’s in-app editing tools are also seeing some upgrades. Users can experiment with new cinematic effects, sharper camera options, masks, keyframe animations on video tracks, and additional sound effects.
Public accounts with professional tools can also now access insights dashboards, trending audio, and post-scheduling features. These updates come alongside visual tweaks, such as zoomed-in thumbnails, designed to refresh the look of feeds.
