World renowned Spanish crooner Julio Iglesias released his chillingly beautiful rendition of Dahil Sa’yo in 1973. He was married to Pinay socialite Isabel Preysler, from Manila, from 1971 to 1979— perhaps this recording was dahil sa kanya!

4. David Archuleta – Nandito Ako (Ogie Alcasid)

American singer-songwriter and runner up of American Idol’s seventh season, David Archuleta loves the Philippines. He recorded an album with Sony Philippines entitled Forevermore in 2012, with the song Nandito Ako by Ogie Alcasid on the tracklist.

Leading lady of multiple television dramas, South Korean actress Park Shin-Hye performed MYMP’s Kailan at a fanmeet in Manila in 2013, causing her Filipino spectators and fans to cheer like crazy.

2. Thalia – Nandito Ako (Ogie Alcasid)

Thalia is known as the Queen of Latin Pop. She has dramatically influenced the genre over the the last couple of decades and the Mexican legend also performed Nandito Ako in 1997, from her album of the same name, which has a total of four Tagalog songs on it.

The late Eartha Kitt, legendary American jazz singer, actress, dancer and comedienne, released her version of Slyvia La Torre’s Waray Waray, in 1965. She even added her own commentary to the song, making it interactive and entertaining to her audience.
