The renowned Journalist and GMA 7 News Anchor, Howie Severino, got hit by a Jeepney while biking this morning. The road accident happened at Aurora Boulevard near Broadway Centrum when he was on his way to work earlier today. According to GMA News Online report, a public utility jeepney hit the rear end of his bicycle, causing him an open wound that needed to be cleaned and dressed.

In his Facebook post, many netizens have reacted and showed disappointment as the Jeepney driver had the nerve to point out, Howie was in his way. The driver later apologized, the post reads.

Online Petition for Cyclists
Earlier this month, we wrote about a horrible incident of a single mom who got run over by a government dump truck in Marikina. The 31-year old cyclist, Lorelie Melevo died on the spot. The incident happened around 8:10 AM. Furthermore, another cyclist got killed as well in Pasig at around 5 PM last week. Although, the suspects for both accidents have been detained, how many lives should we spare before the We Want Bike Lanes in RP Movement’s online petition signed? At the moment, the petition needs more signatures.
Interestingly, these accidents happened in broad daylight. When it is IMPOSSIBLE for these drivers NOT to see these cyclists.
