YouTuber Markiplier Drops Final Trailer for His Film Adaptation of “Iron Lung”—Here’s When It Comes Out

The footage opens with tight, claustrophobic shots inside a lone submarine, paired with echoing metallic sounds and quick flashes of something lurking in the depths. It’s a short preview, but it hints at a slow-burning horror experience built on tension rather than jump scares.

The movie is based on David Szymanski’s 2022 horror game of the same name, which became known for its minimalist gameplay and heavy dread. Helping bring that mood to the big screen is composer Andrew Hulshult, whose work has been featured in several indie horror titles.

According to Variety, Iron Lung also marks Markiplier’s debut as a feature filmmaker. The project is self-funded, and he wears practically every major hat—director, writer, producer, editor, and lead actor.

For the film’s rollout, Markiplier is planning an initial run across 50 to 100 independent theaters in the U.S., with more details expected as the release date gets closer.

Markiplier, whose real name is Mark Fischbach, is a YouTube creator best known for his horror gaming videos and large online following.
