It was only last November 29 that Eduardo Perez Blanco came out with the news that his great aunt, the legendary Lolita Rodriguez, had passed away at 81 years old in her home in California.
Lolita was considered as one of the most talented actresses of early Philippine cinema, coming out with her first movie at just 18 years old, in the 1953 film, “Ang Ating Pag-Ibig.” We tribute her with scenes below from the movies she had starred in, from her stint with Sampaguita Pictures to her work with Lino Brocka.

A true legend in her art, Madame Lolita Rodriguez will be sorely missed in the realm of Philippine cinema. A great actress during the heyday of Filipino film, she has co-starred with some of the biggest names in showbiz today, including Nora Aunor and Vivian Velez.
