YIKES: This commuter shares how the bus conductor accidentally got left behind!

What happens if the bus conductor gets left behind? Although accidents do happen, someone’s gotta have to make a juggling act.

Daily commuter John Pabs Calizo witnessed that one time that the bus conductor got left behind in SM Fairview, unbeknownst to the driver.

The post’s rough translation:

Because the bus went straight (en route) to Baclaran, we didn’t realize that the conductor was left behind in SM Fairview. The driver even asked us where he was. It ended up that many of the passengers had a free trip, HAHAHAHAHA! The driver won’t be able to refund it because the collected fares are with the conductor. I went down because I would be late for work.

WHEN IN MANILA has reached out to Calizo for further details.

Usually ordinary sinasakyan ko mas mura kasi, sumasakay ako from Tungko.

Since nakapag bayad na ‘ko, sayang naman kung bababa agad ako and take a trip to another bus.

At yung bus nag aantay padin bandang Philcoa.

Rough translation:

Every day, I take the bus going to work and I get down around Shaw. Usually, I ride ‘normal’ vehicles since it’s cheaper, and I hop in from Tungko.  The bus I was on, was on full force, as in – I was able to pay my fare while the conductor was still there, so around Fairview area, the bus slowed down and we were waiting for passengers. One passenger was able to witness the conductor go down the bus, I’m not exactly sure if he looked for a place to break down his bills or whatever since I wasn’t able to notice and no one was aware if he came back or if the conductor got left behind because that passenger said that he saw the conductor go down while the passengers hopped on the bus.  There, the bus swiftly went to around Commonwealth area, then the conductor noticed that the passengers went down on their own, to the point that they told the driver themselves that they were going to disembark. They banged the door just so that the driver could see. When the bus stopped at around Techno Hub area, I thought the bus broke down because there was a scent of burnt rubber going around, and that’s when the driver asked us passengers where the conductor went.

I took photos because even I found it funny that the conductor got left behind, the other passengers went down, those who hopped on from Fairview. Maybe it was them who weren’t able to pay. The bus drove away until Philcoa area. The driver was on the phone with someone, and I’m sure that he wasn’t speaking to the company. I asked the driver where the conductor went, and he told me that the conductor did not inform him that he was going down, he wasn’t aware. We waited for 15 more minutes. Since I was able to pay my fare already, I found it a waste if I’d go down and take a trip to another bus. When there were only a few of us passengers left, and when many were able to pay and disembark, we basically couldn’t do anything about it because the bus driver didn’t have the tickets and the money, so I eventually got down because I have to go to work.

I don’t know for sure if the driver and conductor saw each other. And that bus ended up waiting still at around Philcoa area.
