Yasmien Kurdi has shared her side in the widely-talked-about issue of a woman who received a PHP299 engagement ring from her boyfriend.
To those who haven’t heard about it, a screenshot of a woman’s post in a Facebook group wherein she expressed frustration over her boyfriend of 8 years proposing to her with a ring he bought from Shopee that had cost PHP 299 went viral online with plenty of Filipinos airing their sides on the topic.

Now, Yasmien couldn’t help but share her own opinion too through a series of Facebook posts, saying that the price of an engagement ring shouldn’t be such a big deal considering that she and her husband didn’t even have any in the first place.
“P299 na ring issue… medyo OA. Ako nga wala naman ako engagement ring, tapos wedding rings namin di naman nasosoot kasi di kami sanay. Kasal namin 20k lang (2012),” she began.
For her, she believes that it’s much better to invest the money on other things she deems more important to a married couple such as their own house. She also said that we shouldn’t put so much value on material things like jewelry and should instead focus on one’s relationship.
“In my opinion, iinvest niyo nalang pera niyo sa lupa at bahay.
#OpinionKoLangUli to. Masakit yun. Wag ganun. Unless kung nagloko, may luho, bisyo at sugarol. Ibang usapan yun… #communicationiskey to a healthy relationship and marriage.”
