Wolf and Fox Gastropub: Cocktails and Food that You Will Dream About for Days
When looking for an escape in the bustling metro, let Wolf and Fox Gastropub release you from the day’s stress and woes. While serving as a recluse to many of the expats and yuppies within the locale, Wolf and Fox Gastropub also curbs everyone’s craving for British fare. It seems that with the evolving palate of our fellow kababayans; fish and chips, artisanal burgers and liquor has become go-to recipes for success. Well, although Filipino-owned (namely by the powerful SumoSam trio: Marvin Agustin, Ricky Laudico and Raymond Magdaluyo), the Wolf and Fox Gastropub has hit British cuisine spot-on within a Filipino setting.
Judging from its rustic interiors, Wolf and Fox is serious about their craft. There’s a touch of modern industrial flare here and there, but most of the time, it simply keeps up with the fine tastes of an English gentleman as its theme.
Photos of human-like animals line the walls, serving as a manifestation of the pub’s purpose to release the wild side of its guests.
Founded on a split personality – Fox by day and Wolf by night – the menu presents a variety of dishes, each corresponding to either one of the characters. After all, “everyone is a wolf or a fox” at any given time.
Wolf and Fox Gastropub: Introduction
Straight from the Fox menu, the Deconstructed Caesar Salad stays true to the farm-to-table theme. Served with basic elements on a wooden slab, diners have the option to create their own version of the famous salad as needed. This is reminiscent of Heston Blumenthal’s take on the salad.

The gastropub’s fresh take on thin-crust pizza; the Prosciutto, Figs and Arugula Flatbread is a unique experience. A combination of savory slivers of ham and sweet dried figs are topped off by the right amount of bitter arugula leaves.
Where “EVOO ” in Seafood in EVOO Pasta pertains to Extra Virgin Olive Oil; fresh lemon fettucine is cooked with prawns, calamari and mussels. My all-time favorite dish at Wolf and Fox Gastropub for its surprisingly light creamy texture and very al dente pasta. I still daydream about this whenever I get the chance.
Wolf and Fox Gastropub: The Climax
Giving in to the rising action of the menu, the Fish and Chips at Wolf and Fox Gastropub make very savory starters. Tasty and tender morsels of sole fillet are beer-battered and deep-fried to a golden crisp, then served with skin-on fries, tartar dip and malt vinegar.
An upscale version of the well-loved sliders of White Castle, the Four Mini Brioche Burgers are composed of four (bigger-than-)bite-sized burgers smothered in brioche cheese. Choose their homemade potato chips as a siding for a crisp balance.
Their classic Wolf Burger is made up of a juicy patty of US Angus beef cradled between sesame buns and piled with onions and tomatoes. Included in the sandwich are lettuce, pickles and a slice of yellow cheddar for good measure.
A customer favorite, the Wolf & Fox Double Deck means business. A hearty feast for any meat-lover, a hefty serving of two thick US Angus beef patties are stacked on top of each other then topped with bacon and oozing cheese. The burger is an overwhelming sight, but a satisfying meal you’ll probably end up dreaming about for days.
