Now that it’s 2016, it’s time to try to eat healthier. Fortunately, I recently discovered a local granola company called Wit’s Sweets and Savories and they have by far the tastiest granolas I’ve found. The company was founded earlier this year by a group of yuppies whose family owns a cocoa farm in Davao.
Bianca, one of the owners told me that their grandfather started growing cacao beans in their farm during the early 40’s. Now, their 15-hectare farm grows 3 cocoa varieties. They also hold cocoa seminars on-site for those interested in learning more about the process of growing cocoa and processing them to make sure that their health benefits are still intact.
The granola mixes come in four flavours: Tangy, Tasty, Spiced and Zesty.
All four flavors are super tasty and can be eaten alone, mixed with Greek yogurt or even with salad. I also tried it as a topping for fresh papaya and it was the bomb.com, as well.
My favourites are the Spiced and Tasty granola flavours.
All the mixes are made with dried mangoes and cocoa beans (whole cocoa beans can be found in the bags) because they want to make sure that their products are at par with the pricier granolas in the market.
Tasty is described as something that will instantly make you feel reunited with an old friend. Even on yogurt, baked goods or salads – it’s a flawless treat. Spiced, on the other hand, is described as a one hundred percent addictive granola. Each bite of this signature granola provides a smooth, slow blend of abundant flavors.
Each flavor comes in a decent sized bag. Price-wise they are very budget-friendly. Regular granola in local grocery stores can be quite pricey, but Wit’s Sweets and Savories’ granolas can be purchased for only P150/125g pack.
Though not yet available at local supermarkets, Wit’s Sweets and Savories can often be found at your local food bazaars or by contacting them through their mobile number, social media pages and their website. They are also available for corporate events.
