If you’ve finished watching The Witcher Season 2, then you must have spotted the post-credits easter egg as Netflix surprised us with first-look footage of the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin, the highly anticipated next installment in The Witcher franchise.
Blood Origin will be a six-part live-action limited series, and a prequel to The Witcher. The teaser reveals the cast of the series in action for the first time, including Sophia Brown as Éile, Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall, and Michelle Yeoh as Scían.
Watch the teaser here:
Set in an elven world 1200 years before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time – the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.
Netflix also released a selection of first look images to accompany the teaser. Check them out:
The Witcher: Blood Origin will premiere on Netflix in 2022.
