The Link Carpark will be transformed and will showcase 46 galleries including local and international artists. They will be having an addition floor and an open-air Roof Deck to house impressive numbers of art enthusiasts and students from February 16 – 19, 2017 at The Link in Ayala Center, Makati City. Isn’t it exciting?
Art Fair Philippines started in 2013, and is organized by Trickie Lopa, Dindin Araneta and Lisa Periquet with their hard work, commitment and love for the arts. It is that one time of the year where they get together with curators and partners to really prepare well and they’re really happy that the audience seems to be ready. It is an event that can be enjoyed by everyone around the country.
Included in their programs are the Art Fair Philippines featuring 46 exhibitors including new commissioned installations by Jose Tence Ruiz, Agnes Arellano, Elmer Borlongan, Patricia Perez Eustaquio, Emmanuel Garibay, Dex Fernandex, Mark Justiniani, Maria Jeona Zoleta and WSK group of sound artists.
Art Fair Talks will feature three talks per day that will include local and international speakers such as Canadian writer, Sarah Thornton, Filipino historian/ journalist Prof. Ambeth Ocampo, and Professor Tony Godfrey, writer/curator about the art scene. Lastly, Art Fair Tours will include a bus going from The Link to the different art museums around Metro Manila that will take place for the duration of the fair.
This year they want it to be really big and interesting, so in addition to the Art Fair, 10 Days of Art is a campaign that will also be launched and will take place at Makati’s premier lifestyle district from February 9 to 19, 2017.
According to Cathy Bengzon of Ayala Land, this year is going to be the biggest one yet having a shared vision on bringing out the best of Philippine contemporary and modern art. This campaign includes events such as Public Art, Exhibitions, Auctions, Garaparty, Silent Disco and more around Makati and BGC promoting art and building up momentum of the fair up to its opening. Highlighted here is the British-born painter and film maker James Nares where his film will be played at the Ayala Triangle Gardens in the evenings of February 15 to 19, capturing New York as if in a dream on a 20×40 ft installed video screen. Also enjoy special offerings from partner establishments such as Black market, Museum Cafe, Rocket Room and a lot more. So there’s art, food and music; what else could you ask for? Don’t forget to save the date and keep track on the schedules on their official website.
