Who has the best bathroom in the land? #GoldenKubetaPH

2.5 billion people in the world lack access to toilets, among other basic sanitation services, posing serious health and environmental risks. Poor sanitation is also regarded as a contributor to worsening poverty and an affront to human dignity. It is time we take toilets seriously.

In 2016, Maynilad launched the #GoldenKubetaPH, a social media contest that recognizes the best public restrooms in the Philippines. The campaign aims to elevate the significance of the lowly “trono” from being a daily habit to a priority development agenda.

Last January 27, 2017, 12 finalists from 101 entries were honored as the country’s most magnificent public toilets through the inaugural Golden Kubeta Awards. These 12 restrooms exemplify cleanliness, accessibility, functionality and responsible water and wastewater management— proving the care given by these establishments to their patrons.

Here are the winners!
