Hey everyone! The recent weather has us Potterheads thinking if the dementors are at it again, with the cheery weather turning sour and vice versa… But we all know one thing: YOU CANNOT CANCEL QUIDDITCH! So here I am reporting to you what’s the latest from the recent Quidditch World Cup 2017 by Portkey Events.

Team Ireland with the Twin Chasers! They’d give Fred and George a run for their money. ;D
So there we were, 2 teams of Ireland, 3 teams of Bulgaria, and the whole Portkey Events team to manage the festivities. We started off with a cloudy and windy yet sunny weather, shot up some Quaffles through the hoops to know who would go first, and when everything was sorted, the eliminations began.

Settling who goes first via which team scores the most points with the Quaffle.

Rain or Shine, we played our best 🙂

BROOMS UP! Team Demented for Bulgaria!
I was with Team Demented and I can vouch that it was not only me, but the all Potterheads on the field and in the audience area that had the time of their lives!

Chasers try to grab the Quaffle and shoot to score some points!

As intense as can be! Go, Team Bulgaria!
The game of muggle Quidditch ON THE FIELD is pretty intense. 30 minutes of rigorous running, keepers defending the hoops, chasers trying to get a chance at the Quaffle and shoot, and Beaters doing their thing and knocking off as many Chasers and Seekers and Beaters as they can.

The Snitch is having the time of her life!

A chest full of Quidditch Essentials! Quaffle: Volleyball, Bludger: Spiked Rubber Balls, but the snitch is with the Snitch Runner ;D

So happy for that first win! All we were feeling at the moment was intense happiness, for playing our best and getting a win! <3
For the first elimination, our team won, but we were not able to continue on to the next round because half of the team was experiencing cramps. A few minutes after Team Demented forfeited, I got cramps, too. So let this be a lesson: train for the next Quidditch match!
The games couldn’t have ended any better. Ireland won at 220 points… But guess what?
