Local reports have confirmed that blockbuster director Wenn Deramas has died of a heart attack. He was 49.
Superstar comedian Vice Ganda broke the news on his Twitter account.

 Direk Wenn most recently directed the Vice Ganda-starred blockbuster Beauty and the Bestie, an entry at the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival. Deramas has also helmed a string of hit teleseryes and comedy films. According to ANC tweets, the director was brought to the hospital at 2am today, but could not be revived. Deramas also reportedly almost suffered a heart attack two years ago, and underwent an angioplasty.Â
The director’s remains will be brought to Arlington Memorial Chapels on Araneta Avenue.
