The First Female Bartender to Win Bartending Competition

Gone are the days when only men can mix and toss bottles up in the air. For the first time in the history of the bartending competition, a female bartender stood out defeated seven other bartenders, who were aiming to be the “King of the Bar.”

Say, hello to Ruby Rizza Umlas, the first female winner of the recently concluded “Shake, Rattle, and Pour” 2015 Bartending Competition!

First Female Bartender TGIF

As we all know, Filipino bartenders are amazing in mixing drinks and flairing (a term used by bartenders to entertain customers by tossing up bottles or cocktail shakers up in the air). She absolutely rocked the bar with her superior knowledge of the mixes and graceful freestyle flair techniques!

Truth be told that our Hospitality industry, pertaining to bartending, is one of the assets why most international companies love our brilliant bartenders in the country!

Additionally, Ruby will compete with equally skilled bartenders in an Asian tilt to be held in Taiwan. If she tops the tilt and becomes the regional winner, she will then advance to the next stage of the competition.

Admittedly, I love bartending or anything about this industry as I became one, once upon a time! 🙂

Congratulations, Ruby and to the rest of the participants of the said competition!

Who run the world? Girls!
