If a lion were to attempt to take down a giraffe, who would you bet on? The lion? Or the giraffe?
In a recent episode of Planet Earth II, the nature documentary series of British TV network BBC One, a lion chased after a lone giraffe. It was a trap, though. The lion was chasing the giraffe to lead it to an area where the lead female lion of the pack was waiting.
…But the chase didn’t end up the way most of us are probably thinking.

In an unexpected turn of events, the moment the lion pounced on the giraffe and went for its neck (which is the first area wild animals usually attack when taking down an enemy or prey), the giraffe fought back and trampled on the lion and fortunately got away.
