Bad News: Giraffes Are Going Extinct

Congratulations, humans. Another precious animal species is going extinct—and it’s all because of us.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, giraffe population has plummeted 40% in the last 30 years, with only 98,000 of them left all over the world. These cute, tallest mammals are in grave danger of going extinct.

Some of the factors at play for their impending extinction? Human intrusion of giraffes’ natural habitat and poaching.

Along with giraffes, butandings or whale sharks have also been declared as officially endangered this 2016.
