According to a report published by NewsWatch Plus, the local videographer who goes by the name “Skylane” has been charged with unjust vexation in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175), as well as violations of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act (RA 995).

Earlier this month, Vitaly was arrested after receiving flak on social media for causing disruption and harassing Filipinos for rage bait content in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). In the controversial video, the Russian vlogger was seen playing pranks on Filipino passersby, riding a patrol motorcycle, stealing an industrial fan from a restaurant, and snatching a security guard’s cap several times, among other things.

Following this incident, he was arrested by authorities in front of a hotel in Pasay City after his videos went viral online. The BI also released a statement, tagging him as an undesirable foreign national.

Since his arrest, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced that the vlogger would not be deported.

“Hindi po namin siya ide-deport. Mananagot siya sa batas dito sa Pilipinas (We will not deport him. He will be held accountable under the law here in the Philippines),” Jonvic said in a press conference.

“People have to take responsibility for the content they create. It is not a license to shame, berrate, or bismerch anyone on social media… Kung gusto niyong pagkakitaan ang katarantaduhan niyo, handa kayong pagbayaran ‘yon (If you want to profit from your foolishness, then be prepared to pay the price for it),” he added.
