“Triangle of Sadness” finally gets a Philippine release date! The Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner will be shown in Philippine cinemas nationwide starting Nov. 30, 2022, exclusively distributed by TBA Studios.
Directed by Ruben Östlund, the film follows fashion models and influencer couple Carl (“The King’s Man’s” Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (the late Charlbi Dean) who are invited to join a luxury cruise for the ultra-rich, when things begin to go wrong.
The comedy satire film features veteran Filipina actress Dolly de Leon (“Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 3”) who has been receiving Oscar buzz for her performance as toilet cleaning lady Abigail. In the film, she immediately takes charge of the mega-privileged passengers, thanks to her skills, when they all get stranded on an island.
She has since received rave reviews from critics as well as cheers and a standing ovation from the audience at the Toronto International Film Festival.
