Traveling With WanderJoy: How I Got Discounts and Freebies to Lounges, Attractions, and Tours Across Asia-Pacific

We all love to travel, but no matter how well we plan our itinerary, it often ends up shocking us how quickly costs can add up. In my own experience, whenever I’m preparing for a trip, I always have to stay on the lookout for deals on flights, hotels, attraction tickets, and tours just to save money. But a group of telcos in the Asia-Pacific has made it much more convenient for tourists like me to find great discounts and freebies while on vacation by launching their own travel rewards program: WanderJoy!

WanderJoy, first introduced at the KDDI Summit 2025 in Tokyo last October 28, is the world’s first cross-border rewards program created and managed by telcos, spearheaded by the Travel Alliance, a consortium of leading mobile operators across the Asia-Pacific region—namely Singtel, AIS, Taiwan Mobile, GOMO Philippines, KDDI, Telkomsel, Optus, and HKT.

With WanderJoy, everyone across the globe can have access to benefits and exclusive travel privileges to plenty of the Travel Alliance’s partner brands, including DragonPass, Estée Lauder, Grab, KKday, Omio, and Trip.com, simply by availing of a data roaming package through the Alliance members’ platforms (myAIS app, The Club, KDDI au Unlimited Data Overseas, GOMO PH app, My Singtel app, Taiwan Mobile app, and MyTelkomsel).

“The Travel Alliance members are moving beyond connectivity to becoming travel enablers—giving our customers a window into new experiences and making their trips smoother and more memorable,” said Anna Yip, CEO of the International Digital Services of Singtel and Chairperson of the Travel Alliance. “As more people rely on their phones to plan, book, and navigate their journeys, we’re evolving with them, using data and partnerships to guide, delight, and inspire. With WanderJoy, Alliance customers get to enjoy unique and exclusive offers—from family-friendly attractions and gourmet experiences to wellness escapes and adventure tours. We’re elevating their travel experiences, delivering what matters to them at every touchpoint.”

How I traveled with WanderJoy

Currently, WanderJoy offers exclusive deals in eight countries in the Asia-Pacific: Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, and Singapore. During my recent trip to Tokyo, I got to avail of a few of the available deals through the program, such as a 10% discount on a sushi-making class at Washoku Asakusa and a 7% OFF + 10% tax-free voucher at Don Quijote. But there are plenty more worth noting:

  • DragonPass Airport Experience: Travellers can now enjoy a complimentary DragonPass membership, which offers exclusive discounts at over 1,400 airport and railway lounges, access to more than 200 fast-track security lanes, 650 dining outlets and premium retailers, as well as over 1,000 fitness gyms and specialty classes worldwide, making premium airport comfort and convenience accessible wherever you fly.
  • Duty-free exclusives with Estée Lauder: With a qualifying spend of SGD250(PHP~11,281.78) at any Estée Lauder counters in Shilla Duty Free Central Stores across the four terminals of Singapore Changi Airport or JPY30,000 (PHP~11,264.99) in Tokyo Narita Terminals 1 and 2, and Tokyo Haneda Terminal 3, travellers will receive an exclusive “Travel Beautifully” Gift Set.
  • Save more on rides and meals with Grab: Save up to SGD120 (PHP~5,415.19) on rides, food delivery, dining, and more with the Grab Travel Pass.
  • Adventures with KKday: Enjoy up to 15% off a diverse range of curated tours and activities across the eight member countries (such as the Blue Mountains & Sydney Zoo Day Tour in Australia, Hokkaido 1-day tour in Japan, and Taichung Day Tour in Taiwan).
  • Seamless multi-modal travel with Omio: For the first time in Southeast Asia, Omio, one of the leading global travel booking platforms, will be connecting thousands of transport providers, making regional trips even more accessible than ever. WanderJoy users can enjoy up to 50% off bus, ferry, and train rides when they book their regional journeys and up to 13% off international bookings.
  • Best-in-market offers for hotels and flights with Trip.com: WanderJoy customers can enjoy exclusive savings of 10% on global hotel bookings and 6% on flights.

You can check your telco app regularly for fresh offers and seasonal campaigns as WanderJoy’s catalogue of rewards and partners continues to grow, but you can view the existing discounts on day tours, shopping vouchers, complimentary treats and desserts, transportation vouchers, hotel and airport lounge deals, and more on www.wanderjoy.com.
