Are you still looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day gifts for your special someone, family, friends, or yourself on Valentine’s Day? This recently released survey from Social Weather Stations (SWS) might help you decide.
On February 11, SWS released a survey about what Filipinos want to receive this Valentine’s Day. It was conducted nationwide from December 8 to 11, 2023, through face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults aged 18 years old and above.
So, what do Filipinos really want as Valentine’s Day gifts?
According to the results, 16% of Filipinos prefer money as a Valentine’s Day gift, followed by love and companionship (11%) and flowers (10%).
There are actually 23 on the list, but here are the top 10 preferred Valentine’s Day gifts of Filipinos:
- Money – 16%
- Love and companionship – 11%
- Flowers – 10%
- Apparel- 9%
- Any gift from the heart – 5%
- Mobile phone – 5%
- Watch and jewelry – 5%
- Good family relationship – 5%
- Food and grocery items – 3%
- Chocolates – 3%

The survey also revealed that money topped Valentine’s Day gifts for 19% of women and flowers for 13%. Meanwhile, 14% of men wished for apparel and 7% any gift from the heart as Valentine’s Day gifts.

Filipinos were also asked about their love lives, which showed that 58% of respondents are “very happy,” primarily married couples, 23% could be happier, and 19% have no love life.
SWS noted that the latest percentage of respondents who are very happy with their love life is the highest since the record-high 59% in 2011.

The survey was conducted with a ±2.8% margin of error.
