Toni Gonzaga Shares Her Dream K-Drama Remake After My Sassy Girl

During Toni Gonzaga’s birthday on January 20, it was announced that she will be starring in the Philippine remake of the Korean Romantic Comedy Movie “My Sassy Girl”.

While Toni was celebrating her birthday with her family and close friends in Boracay, her Production Company Tincan had posted on Instagram the announcement of the must-awaited series.

In an exclusive interview with Toni, she shared that the remake of “My Sassy Girl” was a dream come true and she has mixed emotions when the project came about. “Grateful, overwhelmed, and just really excited overall”, she replied when asked what she felt about the role.

When asked if she likes Kdramas, she shared that “My Sassy Gir” was the very first Korean movie she watched. She reminisced about watching it the first time in 2006 during a shoot for her movie with Sam Milby called “You are the one”.

As for “My Sassy Girl”, Toni will be starring with leading man Pepe Herrera who also shared his excitement on social media.

Her recent favorite Kdrama is “Crash Landing on You” and if there was something that she dreams of remaking, it’s probably CLOY. “The new Kdrama that really got me hooked was CLOY. It was the first time I actually screamed out of kilig in a very long time from a tv series”, she squealed.

“Wishful thinking. Daydreaming. Maybe if God permits”, she added.

The Korean Original “My Sassy Girl” was directed by Kwak Jae-yong and it starred Jun Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-yun. The same movie was also had a Hollywood remake starring Elisha Cuthbert and Jesse Bradford in 2008.
