Other highlights of the event were booths found in the Travel Town, and Lifestyle Lane such as make-up tutorials, cake decorating, pottery sessions, polymer clay miniature food workshops and calligraphy demos! Heading over the Cuisine Central, I was greeted by a delectable selection of food and they were absolutely delicious. You could really see how much fun all the event-goers had during this one-of-a-kind festival. It was high-spirited, and so much was in store for those who dropped by. Registrants were able to go home with some goodies from TLC, and everything just felt into place. Carefree, enthusiastic, and down-to-earth are just some of the many [kind] words I could describe this festival. In fact, I went around and asked some of the people what they thought about the event, and most of them would say, “It’s a great way of spending our Saturday as a family”, “The food’s great and the vibe is positive”, or “I finally get to meet my idols”. The Philippine crowd, indeed, loved everything about the event, and are hoping to see more of TLC in the years to come.
Talking to Mr. Louie Boswell! What a honor!
I was privileged to talk to Mr. Louis Boswell, Senior Vice-President and Interim General Manager for Southeast Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. When asked about what he wanted the TLC Festival to establish, he mentioned that apart from it being their way of extending what viewers see on the channel, they want to provide an unforgettable experience the TLC way: fun, exciting, real. They want to give everyone a fun-filled day of activities and performances, and give viewers a chance to meet their idols! In fact, during the interview, Louis found out how much I adored Janet and called her over to introduce us. I could literally say that was one of the biggest highlights of my life.
It is that very experience, that moment of fleeting happiness is what Louis says he wants to establish… not just on screen, but in real life — where these memories would last, and be carried by these people through time.
