In an interview with CNN, the astronaut said, “There’s hope in being united. When I look down at the planet, it’s just a big beautiful spaceship that has 7 billion astronauts on it.”

He said that just like the three of them in the space mission, all 7 billion people on earth should work together to overcome this pandemic effectively and safely.

Cassidy also said that there are no “observable differences” due to the coronavirus that can be seen from space, except for fewer airplanes flying around.

He also talked about the new Tom Cruise movie that will be filmed in outer space. Cassidy said that he’s ready for the actor to show up in space any time and also advises him to “listen to all the training.”
