Art in the Park, the country’s favorite and most anticipated art day out, returns on March 17, 2024, at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Makati City from 10 AM to 10 PM. Entrance to the fair is free for all.

For its 18th edition, Art in the Park gathers over 60 exhibitors representing galleries, art collectives, independent art spaces, and student groups to present a vibrant showcase of diverse talents. Fair-goers can engage, interact, and immerse themselves in Filipino creativity without paying an entrance fee.

What’s great about Art in the Park is that it’s a more affordable fair with friendlier prices. The pieces are capped at P70,000, with many art lovers scoring coveted pieces for even less.

Special exhibits at Art in the Park 2024

Demi Padua, considered one of the most sought-after Filipino contemporary artists, intrigues audiences through the composition of his works, which blend figurative and abstract elements. The effect is a series of collage-like images that conceal and reveal subjects beneath layers of photo-realistic materials, peeling away to unmask their real identities without fear of judgment. Demi Padua has exhibited his works in every edition of Art in the Park since 2006.

Pepe Delfin, meanwhile, explores abstract forms through geometric shapes, squiggles, and lines. She carefully places each element to visualize the artist’s experiences, observations, and relationships with people and contemporary life. Delfin constructs scenes portraying solitude and many emotions through vibrant hues and structured compositions.

Art in the Park Clarence Chun

Clarence Chun is another abstractionist joining this year’s Art in the Park roster. He primarily engages in abstraction to create narratives centered on his connections and relationships to places he had lived in. With a childhood spent in Leyte and later residing as an adult in Hawaii, Chun’s work depicts biographical narratives from his personal history as a first-generation immigrant.

Food options and music galore
