What was once a deeply personal project available only on CD and Bandcamp is finally reaching listeners everywhere, inviting both longtime fans and new audiences to rediscover the band’s introspective, narrative-driven sound.

Until I Reach the Sun chronicles the coming-of-age journey through early adulthood. Woven throughout the album are thematic nods to the story of the prodigal son—echoes of searching, wandering, self-doubt, and eventually, return. The album stands as a portrait of someone learning how to navigate life’s uncertainties while holding onto the hope of finding their way back to where they belong.

Originally released on November 17, 2023, the album was available only in physical form, making this digital launch a chance for listeners to experience a significant chapter of The Ridleys’ evolution—one that reminds audiences that their artistry extends far beyond the romantic themes the band has become known for in recent years.

At the heart of this release is “Reprise,” a concluding track crafted to encapsulate the emotional arc of the album. Rather than serving as a mere bonus, “Reprise” acts as a musical mirror—echoing the melodic structure of “Looking For,” the opening track, and weaving in lyrical callbacks from earlier songs. It reflects the band’s desire to tie the story together, much like Fall Out Boy’s “What a Catch, Donnie,” which inspired the approach of revisiting past moments to form a unified emotional statement. Anchored by the hopeful message, “You’ll find your way back home,” the song reinforces the album’s core theme of searching and returning.

By uniting both volumes of the album into one coherent remastered edition, The Ridleys mark not just an anniversary but also a milestone in their musical path. The digital release honors the community that has supported them over the years—listeners who have grown with their sound, discovered new favorites, and found comfort in the stories they tell.

And while Until I Reach the Sun revisits a pivotal era in the band’s early 20s, the addition of “Reprise” brings new emotional clarity and a renewed sense of direction—a fitting bridge between where The Ridleys have been and where they are headed next.
