Singapore Airlines General Manager Carol Ong (2nd from left) with several key partners during the kick-off of the 50th anniversary of Singapore Airlines in the Philippines.
Starting July 21, 2016, SIA will already fly to Dusseldorf, Germany. Flights will be operated three times a week from Singapore using the all-new Airbus A350 900.
Additionally, SIA will start flying to Canberra, Australia and Wellington, New Zealand via “Capital Express” route. This new service allows SIA to bring international flights to Canberra and link Canberra to Wellington. On September 20, 2016, flights will be operated on this route four times a week. This makes SIA the first airline with flights between Canberra and Wellington. This gives Filipinos more convenient travel options between the capital of Australia and New Zealand.
Singapore Airlines Has Joint Venturesย for Expanded Connectivity
SIA and Lufthansa team up to provide joint venture in operating key routes between Singapore and Europe. The two airline companies intend to co-operate in key markets in Europe, Southeast Asia, and Australia for more convenient connections between route networks.ย The expanded codeshare ties will giveย SIA customers with access to and from points in Austria, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland, throughย transfer hubsย of Frankfurt, Munich, and Zurich, with more than 20 new codeshare routes.
Additionally,ย SIA customers can enjoy increased capacity and additional frequencies to Newย Zealand through Singapore with the Airlineโs alliance with Air New Zealand. Both carriersย operate one return service each per day on the Singapore-Auckland route and Singaporeย Airlines operate a daily return service between Singapore and Christchurch. Customers nowย also have access to a further 40 destinations in the Air New Zealand network, making travel toย and within New Zealand much easier.
The New Singapore Airlines A350-900 Aircraft
Starting April 2016, SIAย is expecting to start receiving theย 63 new A350-900 aircrafts that are on firm order. These aircraftsย will have Amsterdam as its inaugural destination.
