The Battle of Winterfell on “Game of Thrones” Already Broke a Record

If you were one of us who were shookt at yesterday’s Battle of Winterfell in Game of Thrones, we have good news for you: it already broke a record on Twitter as the most-tweeted-about scripted TV episode of all time.

According to Twitter, season eight’s third episode, titled “Long Night,” garnered 7.8 million tweets. The platform added that the most tweeted characters were Arya, Bran, Cersei, Jon Snow, and the Night King.

The episode is notable for holding the Battle of Winterfell, the much-awaited duel between the living and the Night King and his Army of the Dead. It is the longest episode in the show’s history, clocking in at 82 minutes.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the general consensus reads, “Winter has come and gone and Arya Stark may officially be the baddest woman in the land, but despite delivering some epic and emotional moments “The Long Night” leaves a few things to be desired (lighting, anyone?) heading into the final stretch.”

Game of Thrones is an adaptation of Martin’s fantasy series of novels and follows different dynasties as they aim to succeed the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms.
