The 1975 is Delaying Their New Album Release, And Here’s Why

Bad news for The 1975 fans: the band’s upcoming album release Notes of a Conditional Form has been pushed back a few months as revealed by frontman Matty Healy in an Instagram Live session.

Originally scheduled for release on February 21, the band decided to delay it to April 24. “Sorry to f*** you about,” Matty told fans, explaining that they were still finishing up the album.

“It takes like three months or something to physically make a record on vinyl so it comes out on the 24th of April, I think,” he added. “Sorry if that’s annoying or whatever… For the sake of a couple of months, in the grand scheme of things [the delay] doesn’t really make any difference.”

But if there’s any consolation, he did promise that the album is definitely going to be much better than the music they’ve been putting out all these years which is exciting, considering that their prior releases have consistently been successful. According to Matty, he and the rest of the band are “really proud” of what they’ve come up with to follow up their 2018 album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.

In the meantime, fans will be treated to a number of singles that will be released before the whole album, not counting “Frail State of Mind” and “People” which are already out. One, in particular, titled “Me and You Together Song,” will actually be released soon!

We may have to wait a few more months, but we can already tell that it will be worth it.
