Taiwan Beats Showcase, a flagship initiative spotlighting Taiwan’s most dynamic music talents on the global stage, has released its highly anticipated recap video—a vibrant visual diary that captures the energy, artistry, and cultural essence of its standout performers.
This year’s showcase featured six trailblazing acts: Amazing Show, Enno Cheng, ?te (Whyte), TRASH, HSIEN CHING, and Andr—each bringing a unique sonic signature that represents the evolving landscape of contemporary Taiwanese music. The recap invites global audiences, including curious Filipino music lovers, to relive the momentum of Taiwan’s showcase at SXSW 2025.

Organized by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development (BAMID) under Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, this year’s theme, Connection, celebrates music’s power to bridge cultures and communities across industry boundaries. True to SXSW’s spirit, the event served as a melting pot of creativity and cross-cultural dialogue.
The festivities began with a lively Day Party headlined by Japanese rock band Enfants and Malaysian rapper Zamaera, setting the tone for an international blend of styles and narratives. Alongside the performances, the TAICCA Meet-Up forum gathered music executives and creatives to discuss the shifting landscape for Asian artists in the North American music scene.
As the evening showcase unfolded, HSIEN CHING opened with moving tracks from her album If Every Day Could Be Happy Happy, Who’d Want Sad, joined by producer Sōryo. Neo-soul artist Whyte (?te) followed with a genre-blurring set. Rising pop artist Andr also made a lasting impression with her performance at SXSW’s International Night Showcase, sharing the spotlight with Japan’s Luv and Paris Death Hilton.
Veteran singer-songwriter Enno Cheng delivered an introspective set from her upcoming album Moon Phases, marking her return to SXSW with renewed emotional depth. Rock band TRASH lit up the stage with a powerful, stadium-worthy set, while The Amazing Show closed the night with an otherworldly, cyber-TaiKe-inspired performance.
The showcase’s energy continues beyond SXSW: Whyte (?te) has just released Let Me Be Me, a soulful collaboration with Japanese artist TENDRE, exploring themes of family. Meanwhile, Enno Cheng expands her reach in South Korea with a new video for Rarely Think of It and an upcoming performance at the Asian Pop Festival.
