Are you a fan of sandwiches? You might find this interesting: National Geographic named the Banh Mi (Vietnamese burger) as one of the most delicious sandwiches in the world. And that’s exactly what you’ll get when you visit Dezato Mochi Cafe.
Dezato Mochi Cafe is famous for their awesome offering of mouth-watering mochi balls. Aside from those, though, they now offer Vietnamese food to further expand their menu, as well.
The Banh Mi is basically a huge French baguette filled with a variety of meat and vegetables. There are 6 variants, and it was difficult to pick a favorite since they were all good: Ham, Tofu, Grilled Pork, Grilled Chicken, Longganisa with Egg, Beef Tapa with Egg. We highly recommend the last two to those who want to feel at home with Filipino flavors.
You can even go bigger with the Super Banh Mi for just an additional Php40.
The Spring Rolls (Php75) are cooked to perfection. They have a very crunchy crust, but are very soft on the inside. I was delighted when I found out it had black mushrooms in it. These are very good and healthy stuff, especially for detoxifying. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee (Php75) is another hit for me! It feels so refreshing and the concoction is perfect — a strong kick of flavor from the coffee with just a tiny hint of sweetness – perfect to cool us down during the sun-drenched lunch hour.
Aside from the Vietnamese food, we also sampled the other awesome food that they offer:
Longganisa and Liver Pasta with Bread
Shrimp Pasta with Bread
All-time Filipino favorites are also present if you must have them:
Bacon Slabs with Eggs
Adobo Flakes
There was more awesomeness when their signature Mochi Truffles and Mochi Ice Cream were served, along with the Frozen Brazo. I could instantly see (and taste) why people go mad over their Mochi Truffles. The Mochi Ice Cream also had a lot of kick in the flavor, especially the Green Tea, Dark Chocolate and Salted variants (you must try them all!).
We had the honor to sit down and chat with the very friendly owner of Dezato Mochi Cafe, as well: Ms. Maria Gorre. Her passion for cooking and creating food led to the opening of the business back in 2006. Slowly, they’ve expanded their menu to offer an exotic dining experience when you visit with your folks.
If you haven’t been there before, we highly recommend this place since they’re conveniently located a few steps from the main road (E. Rodriguez Sr. QC), schools and offices.
The neighborhood is very serene and it’s just the perfect hangout place to unwind and chill. Shall I say, for my food therapy sessions. I’m sure my barkada would love to hang around here too so will bring them along next time.
