By the time the entree was served, I was almost full because of the generous serving off the bat. However, the show must go on and I was happy to soldier on. This sweet and juicy tomahawk porkchop is almost the size of my face and can be had for PHP650.
Grilled Ilo-Ilo prawns in Romesco sauce, PHP1100
These things are huge, but most of all, fresh, firm and sweet.
Sole en Papillote, PHP750
Squid, clams, baby vegetables, marble potatoes and lemon.
The house blend iced tea with ginger, pandan, calamansi, tea and mint.
Cannoli with Ube Ricotta and Langka cream, PHP275
During this point of the tasting, I was already full. I was actually surprised that I hit the wall early. Maybe the amount of food they served was just too generous; but hey, the rule when doing this king of work is: “There is always room for dessert”.
Molten Chocolate Cake with Alfonso Tablea Chocolate and Pato Queso de Bola Ice Cream, PHP225
The name is a mouthful, but every bite is a delight. After this dish, I tapped out.
After the sumptuous lunch, it was refreshing was to experience everyone engaging in conversation without any phones or tablets in sight. Truly, this is how one should enjoy a meal: great food, cozy ambiance and wonderful conversation.
As I stepped out to gather my thoughts and to wrap my head around how I just ate all of that food, I was greeted by the excellent view outside while sipping my coffee. When we arrived in Tagaytay, things were overcast, but as soon as we got satiated, the highlight of the day began. For a relaxing weekend, head on to Taza and have a wonderful time with the food and the view.
