According to multiple reports, the 47-year-old driver was freed upon posting a P100,000 bail set by the Pasay Regional Trial Court.
On May 4, the SUV driver rammed into the departure area of the NAIA Terminal 1, resulting in injuries to several individuals and the deaths of two, including a five-year-old.
The driver claimed he had dropped off a passenger and was about to leave when another vehicle cut in front of him, causing him to panic, and mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake.
He is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property. Following a series of tests and medical evaluations, both his alcohol and drug test results yielded negative results.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a 90-day preventative suspension of his driver’s license.
