30 Days with Paulo follows the story of Bea, an aspiring writer who chose a different path because of doubts and disbelief especially from someone she holds dear but eventually meets someone by chance who would redirect her into what her heart has been longing for from the beginning.
I have to admit that my expectation of how the book unfolds would be laid out in 30 days with different updates for each day, but it was a pleasant surprise on how the story elaborates details of Bea and Paulo’s conversations through text message screenshots, playful exchange of lyrics and diary entries.
It does remind of the acclaimed Kissing Booth where it was praised mostly online by young teens as it was raved about since it was posted on Wattpad years ago.
This modern romantic fairytale of Tinder Matches and white lies behind black screens consists of less than 100 pages and my only wish is that I could’ve learned more about the backstories of the main characters because it was an exhilarating experience to know what more is there to know about Bea and Paulo.
For the average young Filipino, it is sure to bring you plenty of good vibes as you read along knowing what challenges has Bea overcome and how she still wants to pursue what she’s passionate about. You learn about taking chances and there’s much kilig waiting as you finish reading the book.
It’s also good to note that 30 Days With Paulo features lyrics to an original song called “Hey Bea”, which is also in the book lyrics as you can see in the bookmark in the photo above. The talents of Team 30 Days recorded and developed the song’s melody.
And, if you’re only just beginning your journey of reading books and want to be entertained by a relatable story of knowing what you want in life, this one’s for you. I would still be curious on what’s to come for a sequel but for now, I’m trying my best to not spoil anything, so you’re gonna have to grab a copy and know the story for yourself!
