Seems like we’ll be seeing Mario running on the big screen, soon! Its Kyoto-based video game creator, Nintendo, announced that it is teaming up with animation company Illumination Entertainment, the studio behind the ‘Despicable Me’ franchise, to produce a Super Mario animated movie.
According to Nintendo, it “will pursue its goals of effectively leveraging its intellectual properties in mediums outside of video games, and of bringing smiles to people around the world” through this project.
Although we will have to wait for further announcements, still, as there’s not much detail provided regarding the movie itself such as who might be voicing the characters and when will the animation be released.
Universal Pictures is expected to distribute the movie worldwide.
