Sunshine Dizon Reveals Having Mental Health Conditions

Apparently, Sunshine Dizon has been diagnosed with multiple mental health conditions. In a recent social media post, the celebrity shared a photo of her medicines.

“And since I’m here alone feeling overwhelmed, [I] guess it’s time to admit what I’ve been going through recently,” she wrote in the caption. Dizon continued, “Diagnosed with PTSD, depression, panic attacks, and abandonment issues–and that’s just skimming the surface.”

Naming the medicines she is currently taking, she explains: “Only because I want to free myself from the stigma.” She went on to inspire people who might be going through the same thing with her words. “There’s nothing wrong to ask for help,” she said. “I know it’s very hard to get stuck in your head but we can do it. Baby steps. One day at a time.”

Fellow celebrities were quick to show their support for Dizon on Instagram. Carla Abellana wrote, “Oh no, Ate Shine… I’m so sorry to hear this… YOU ARE NOT ALONE.”  Meanwhile, “Encantadia” co-stars Iza Calzado and Karylle comforted her saying, “Ga, andito kami. Maraming nagmamahal sayo,” and “Always here for you sister.”

Danica Sotto-Pingris also commented, “Hi Marey! Praying for you and believing in your healing. Andito lang ako. Stay strong,” while Janine Gutierrez wrote a short but sweet message, “Love you, ate.”

Dizon also shared being confined in a hospital in another post. “Unfortunately this is me. Hoping it’s not Covid again,” she wrote. She also wrote some of her recent realizations: “some people will love you enough to move mountains just to be with you, and some will have lame excuses because you are not and will never be their priority. I’m turning 40 next year. I have so many regrets but I don’t know how to go back to where I used to be. This is not about work, this is about life-altering decisions. Laying in a hospital bed alone at 3 am, I ask myself–was it all really worth it?”

She ends it on a hopeful note, “I may never know the answers, but I pray to god that I can let go of all my baggage, hurt, and guilt; [and] finally find someone who will sleep beside me in this small hospital bed till I fall asleep.”
