I have watched Studio Ghibli’s “Spirited Away” countless times in my life now and I still fall in love with it again and again. From its story, to its characters, to its humor, to its soundtrack, and, most especially, to its ending, “Spirited Away” just has that effect on you that will make you laugh, cry, and smile even if you already know what’s going to happen next.
One of my favorite details about the film is all the bathhouse spirits which, despite just being background characters, have left such lasting impressions on Studio Ghibli fans. This is why I’m so happy to find out that Studio Ghibli is officially releasing a new line of collectible figurines of these spirits!
Called the “Pose ga Ippai Collection DX Kamisama Ippai,” which translates to “Plentiful Pose Collection Digital Transformation: Plentiful Gods,” the line-up features the following characters: Oshira-sama, the pungent Radish Spirit who accompanies heroine Chihiro in the elevator; Ootori-sama, the adorable duck-like chicken spirit; Kasuga-sama, who are seen in the film alighting a ferry boat on the way to the bathhouse; Okusaresama, the stink spirit who is filled with muck and garbage; and the Kawa no Kami, or River Spirit.
The collection also features Haku in Dragon Form and No Face in his scary, monster-like form.
The palm-sized figurines will be sold in all Donguri Kyowakoku stores for 920 yen each (~PHP 425).
