Starbucks to Remove Extra Charge for Non-Dairy Milks in U.S. and Canada

Starbucks has announced a significant change to its menu, effective November 7th: the company will no longer charge extra for non-dairy milk alternatives U.S. and Canada company-owned and operated stores. This decision aims to make plant-based beverage options more accessible and affordable for customers.

“Core to the Starbucks Experience is the ability to customize your beverage to make it yours,” said Brian Niccol, Starbucks chairman and CEO. “By removing the extra charge for non-dairy kinds of milk, we’re embracing all the ways our customers enjoy their Starbucks.”

Non-dairy milk is Starbucks’ second most popular customization, trailing only behind adding a shot of espresso. This change is expected to benefit many customers, with nearly half of those who currently pay for non-dairy milk modifications in company-operated U.S. stores seeing a price reduction of over 10%.

This move aligns with Starbucks’ broader strategy of enhancing the customer experience and reinforcing its position as a leading coffeehouse.
