“Wakanda Forever” is a phrase made popular by the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the introduction of Black Panther or King T’Challa in Avengers: Infinity War (2018 Film). Wakanda refers to the fictional character’s home which turns out to be a technologically advanced country located in Sub-Saharan Africa.

After seeing South Africa’s candidate Zozibini Tunzi on Miss Universe 2019, “Wakanda Forever” started trending on Twitter.

As it seems, netizens have in fact been greeting Tunzi with it. Local artist Vice Ganda also tweeted about Tunzi’s resemblance to the representation of the Wakandan tribe in the film.
