Solenn Heussaff-Bolzico Only Lets Daughter Watch Cartoons in Spanish or French—Here’s Why

Solenn Heussaff-Bolzico has been open in sharing her adventures of being a mom to daughter Thylane on Instagram and has revealed some of her unconventional parenting methods, such as refusing to let her baby watch cartoons unless they’re in a foreign language—specifically Spanish or French.

In an Instagram Story update, Solenn explained why this is so.

“She hears English every day with everyone so she will learn it fast. She hears Tagalog every day at home and with family, so it will come naturally just like English,” she began. Unlike these two languages, Solenn said that Tili only hears French when speaking to her and her dad, and Spanish when speaking to Nico.

“So she needs more exposure with both languages. And when she watches in Spanish, I get to learn too,” she continued. “So I’m not sure if she will identify all languages or think all 4 are 1 haha.”

She added that she learned this method after reading “many books.”

“The more languages you expose a baby to, the better,” she said.
