The Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology (MCST), together with MCST Bluesphere Media Creatives and the MCST Andunong Cultural Arts Center, proudly presents SLAMBOOK: Class of 1987, a coming-of-age jukebox musical set to take the stage on July 7, 2026, at the MCST Gymnasium, with performances at 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Presented in partnership with Tanghalan Mandaluyong, the production transports audiences back to 1987, following a group of students brought together through a national quiz competition. As they navigate friendship, first love, family expectations, and self-discovery, they find themselves connected by the Slambook Wall—a space where confessions, aspirations, and untold stories are shared, reminding audiences of the enduring power of youth voices and meaningful connections.
The production is conceptualized and initiated by JC Chiong, directed by K. Martinez, written by Ephraim-Jay Villafania, and features musical direction by John Kenneth Dael. Through the timeless songs that define the era, the musical celebrates the hopes, struggles, and dreams of a generation while highlighting themes that remain relevant today.
Bringing together student performers, musicians, creatives, technical personnel, and volunteers, SLAMBOOK: Class of 1987 reflects MCST’s continuing commitment to cultivating artistic excellence and providing students with opportunities to create meaningful and impactful productions. More than a theatrical performance, the musical serves as a platform for young artists to tell stories that resonate across generations and encourage audiences to reflect on their own experiences.
The production is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology, MCST Bluesphere Media Creatives, MCST Andunong Cultural Arts Center, Tanghalan Mandaluyong, and the support of its media and community partners, who continue to champion Filipino arts, culture, and storytelling.
Admission to both performances is free, and members of the public are invited to experience an evening of music, nostalgia, and stories that celebrate friendship, identity, and the memories that continue to shape every generation.
