Want to bring home some souvenirs for the family? Shirohige also sells cookies that range from ¥140 (Php62) to ¥1,100 (Php490). The cookies come in cute shapes like mushrooms, owls, Totoro, and leaves.

Once bought, you’ll have to consume these cuties immediately, though, to enjoy it fresh! You can’t eat the cream puffs in the bakery, so you’ll have to take them out; eat them outside (after your photoshoot, of course); or eat them on their second-floor restaurant (plus service charge).

The cream puffs live up to their image because they taste as good as they look. The filling is not too sweet, either, while the pastry is flaky and delicious.

If you’re in the mood for something else to eat before the cream puffs, the second-floor restaurant also offers a selection of different food like fresh pasta (use Google Translate’s app to translate everything in real time!)

After eating, you can also spend the rest of the day exploring Shimokita, of course! So, what are you waiting for? Add Shirohige to your itinerary or to your future ‘places to go to in Japan’ list!
