Shine Kuk Wins Prestigious Award at Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival

Philippine-based Korean broadcaster, host, and actress Shine Kuk, whose real name is Kuk Son-yong, captivated audiences as the opening and mid-event host at the Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival held at Sumiyoshi Main Hall in Osaka, Japan, on December 1.

She was nominated for Best Performance for her outstanding role in the film “Coronaphobia” and received the Filipino-Korean Entertainment Recognition Award from the Global Maharlika of Kansai Group.

Shine Kuk was crowned Miss Korea Philippines 2018 and placed as the first runner-up in the Miss Queen Korea pageant during the same year. Since then, she has established herself as a prominent broadcaster in the Philippines, hosting numerous programs and gaining widespread recognition.

Shine Kuk showcased her eloquence and charisma at the Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival, delivering seamless and engaging hosting performances that resonated with the audience. Her remarkable acting in the film “Coronaphobia” further solidified her reputation as a versatile artist.

Her receipt of the Filipino-Korean Entertainment Recognition Award highlights her significant contributions to cultural exchange between Korea and the Philippines, underlining her growing influence in both countries.

In her acceptance speech for the nomination and award, she expressed her gratitude.

“It is an incredible honor to host such a meaningful event, to be nominated, and to receive this prestigious award. I sincerely thank my fans and everyone who has supported me along the way,” she said.

“Ima wa ima means today is today. I will always cherish the gift of God and use each day as an opportunity to promote cultural exchange between Korean, Filipino, and Japanese cultures even.”
