SF Bistro – A Cozy Foodie Gem in Growing McKinley Hill in Taguig

Having worked at Enderun Colleges for 4 years, I am very familiar with McKinley Hill in Taguig and have seen it blossom to become a food destination where there are great restaurants, wine shops and bars for late night revelry.

Tucked just a short walk away from the Brick bike shop and at the beginning of the restaurant strip stretching to the Korean International School SF Bistro aka San Francisco Bistro is a quaint shop front where the greenery and undercover awning make for a perfect venue to relax for a quick lunch or after-work drinks. SF Bistro is the first branch from the owners of Rue Bourbon. Read about their latest Rue Bourbon branch in Tagaytay here: Rue Bourbon Tagaytay: Cool Beers, Cool Weather, Cool New Location

The interiors are cozy with a giant mural of the San Francisco Bridge lending a relaxing and casual ambiance to the place.

Cool Chef Christian

It is always nice to catch up with fellow ex-Shangri-La employees and Chef Christian was very happy to discuss his new menu, the popular new items and his recommendations. An added advantage of befriending the chef is that he was happy to twist his menu to my Primed Lifestyle where I don’t eat grains or sugars.

The Menu

There are lots of good items to choose from in their menu. There are cocktails, wines, shooters, smoothies, beers and plenty of hearty and inexpensive food options.

My buddy Tinsa and I sheltered from the pounding rain and enjoyed our food a lot.

My Beef Salpicao was spicy, tender and had so much garlic, I was in heaven. The beef was tender and delicious!

Tinsa’s Ceasar Salad, on the other hand, was not overly dressed, had a dressing that had a great balance between acidity and sweetness, and had fresh leaves with bacon pieces and croutons.

We shared a Beef Pot Roast, as well, where the short ribs were from the US, tender and accompanied with fresh vegetables of carrots and celery.

The food quality is excellent and very affordable!
