When in Manila, a cupcake is quickly becoming a sinful indulgence for all foodies.
Gigi Coffee & Cupcakes
Cupcake houses are baking and popping here and there because of the simple and sweet satisfaction one cupcake can give. In Eastwood City, Gigi Coffee & Cupcakes is a new cupcake shop in the corner that has been there for less than a year or so. It can be found at the old spot of Gloria Jeans Coffee at the main entrance of Eastwood City. Though young and somewhat unheard of, Gigi Coffee and Cupcakes is winning in attracting the hearts of the cupcake-loving market with its charming sweet treats.
Named after the baking goddess who creates these heavenly treats on a daily basis, Gigi Gaerlan is not a newbie in the cupcake turf. If you have already come across the gooey custaroons, you have probably heard of Gigi. If you had custaroons and have already tried her new sweet offerings, I think you’ll say that she’s a dessert genius.
When I went to Gigi Coffee and Cupcakes, I ordered half a dozen of cupcakes with different cupcakes. I was able to try six flavors (L-R, Top-Bottom in the image above) Peanut Butter, Red Velvet, Chili Chocolate, Cherry, Chocolate, and White Chocolate.
I had a quick chat with one of the proprietors, Patrick Gaerlan, and he mentioned that aside from these flavors that are available daily, other unique cupcake flavors become available. For an instance, today they made Bacon Chocolate cupcake and I just missed it.
