Less than a year ago, Sam YG shared a cute Instagram post on his girlfriend Essa Santos’ birthday with five things about we might not know about her. One of the things on the list was that she had turned Sam down seven times before even agreeing to grab a drink with him. “The struggle was real but dreams come true,” he laughed.

In that post (as seen above), he also said, “I couldn’t be luckier to have such a beautiful, loving, and inspiring person in my life. Even if it takes a hundred more invites in a thousand lifetimes, I’d still choose you.”
Proving that persistence and true love reign, things are now official. Sam has proposed and Essa has said yes! In a short but sweet and very witty and nakakakilig Instagram post, Sam shares a hidden photo of him on one knee as Essa covers her face seemingly in tears with the caption, “Essa ‘YES’!” and a diamond ring emoji.
