Revlon Makeup and BDJ Box Show Girls the Hottest Summer Trends
Just because you’re going to the beach on these hot summer days doesn’t mean that you have to forget packing your makeup kit with your travel essentials. SUMMER LUAU: A Makeup Workshop by REVLON, a BDJ Box Beauty Soiree, was held last April 26, 2014 at Borough, Podium. At 2pm, the Borough was filled with gorgeous ladies wearing their best summer outfits. The makeup workshop was put together to show girls the freshest makeup looks with the help of featured makeup artist, Ana Paredes. Ana Paredes studied makeup at Make-Up Forever Philippines under Ms. Yuki Geraldo and Ms. Monika Reyes last 2010. She currently has a career of her own doing magazine shoots, events and the like.

Ana Paredes explained the summer makeup essentials and basic skin care for the ladies. Since it’s summer, she emphasized the importance of cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Equally important is the use of makeup that has SPF. As a reminder, she said that less is more and that we always have to “keep skin looking like skin”. Ana Paredes also advised us to apply highlights on the face’s high points because “highlighters bring light to the face and open it up more”.
After Ana Paredes’ discussion, she started with a practical demonstration on how to put makeup on properly on a model with mestiza features. Ana Paredes gave step-by-step instructions on how mestiza ladies can pull off an effortless summer look.
Of course, the makeup workshop didn’t forget about the morenas out there, either. Another makeup demonstration was done on a morena this time with Ana Paredes sharing some tricks on how to accentuate your features on a regular summer day.
And then it was time for the girls to apply everything they learned from the lecture and the demo. The girls were divided into five groups and each group was provided with an array of different Revlon makeup and tools. They were given 40 minutes to play with the makeup and to try them on themselves.
While we were applying makeup on our own, Ana went around to personally teach us proper makeup application and to answer questions we might have. Afterwards, sumptuous snacks were served and three lucky girls with the best outfits were awarded with Revlon goodies.
