Resurrection TV Series Starring Kurtwood Smith and Omar Epps is Incredibly Heart-Wrenching!!!
Have you ever lost a loved one? What if three decades from now that person suddenly came back looking exactly like they did the last time you saw them? How would you react? What would you do? Would you run to them with open arms? Would you freak out and run away? Such is the premise of the new promising TV series “Resurrection” – soon to premiere on Lifetime here in the Philippines… on Monday, May 12, 2013 at 10pm, to be exact. The show will air every Monday at 10pm after that.
I had no idea what to expect when I attended the press con today. All I knew was that Kurtwood Smith of “That 70’s Show” and Omar Epps of “House” would be there. When we sat down to see a few clips from the first episode, though, I found myself completely gripped by the show. I was crying in the middle of the first clip and I could literally feel my heart breaking inside of me (the subject matter hit a lil too close to home too soon – sorry!) and, although I wanted to stay and maybe take selfies with Kurtwood and Omar (first-name basis para kunwari close), I actually had to bolt out of the room right after the event because I was ugly-crying. Haha. True story, though! 🙁

Fortunately, I held myself together enough to find out more about Resurrection beforehand, though. I was really in awe when Issa Litton, host of today’s press con, told us that Resurrection got soaring ratings during its grand premiere in the U.S. That’s right. They actually garnered 13.3 million viewers for the first episode, making it the season’s most-watched regular time slot, edging out even the world-famous TV series The Walking Dead.
To promote the Resurrection TV series, Kurtwood Smith and Omar Epps are currently in town to meet and greet the media and the fans, with a special advanced screening of the show happening at Greenbelt 3 Park tomorrow! Both Kurtwood Smith and Omar Epps agree that Resurrection’s premise is brilliant. Aside from the great cast, this is one of the reasons why I personally think Resurrection will really hit it off in the Philippines. After all, who hasn’t ever wanted to turn back time and save a loved one from their fate somehow? Again: this is a very sensitive subject for me, but I’m also a sucker for hope and I will definitely be watching this series to figure out more about life, death and the thereafter.
As Kurtwood Smith so perfectly put it earlier today, “The show will make you think about your life, where it’s going and where you want it to go.” After all, even after experiencing loss, one must have the courage to pick themselves up and move on someday.
Resurrection is brought to us by Lifetime, the newest entertainment destination for quality dramas, movies, reality shows, including Resurrection.
